The production on this album is absolutely stunning and is in perfect harmony with the sense of atmosphere brought forth by the band. This is without a doubt one of the best albums to come out this year and a stunningly beautiful piece of music that is at the same time very sombre and dismal on its delivery upon the listener. Ataraxy are very proficient musicians that market their music as old school death metal.

The vocals are aggression and powerful yet they fit the albums emotional contact with flying colors. I personally feel metal is for the most part dead and I still stay up to par with what's available. After ataracy seven minute opener the album continues to explore gloomy ambiances and airy leads throughout longer pieces than on previous works. The drum patterns are predictable but solid.

And so are again the shifts in tempo where riff after riff the void keeps pulling you into it and gently whispering sweet lullabies, only to have you crushed into nothingness at the end of the gaping wormhole standing above you.
There are no fillers on the album and every song catches my attention like light catches the moths. Write your own review. So I'll stop with the fourth person semantics and say that you should definately check this album out.

If you like old school death metal I recommend you check this out because in this time and age few albums are as good, and more so as refreshing, in a scene that continuously rehashes itself. While the emphasis is clearly put on conjuring an imagery of desolation and emptiness, the riffs always back up this eerie spine with enough content to grip onto you. All the other instruments are executed well which is usually typical of artists under labels but I'm always more concerened about the compositional aspects which this does have but everything is rehashed and nothing really stands out as being new to the revival scene.
Relax it's only their second review.

Overall, the first listen was very entertaining, but there was no replay level to it because it never bestowed a challenge.

It's about that time when we evaluate what death metal has put out for the year. This is so cool…! I know from time to time there will be solid death metal released and Ataraxy's Revelations of the Ethereal is without a doubt solid. But then again the same description could be applied to pretty much the entire album as the quality is held on a very high note throughout it.
The Baltimore metal vets revisit their hard-as-nails death-metal sound by way of a tighter, grindcore-centric approach.

I found that many of the songs here flow very well, meaning that the transitions are smooth. Samsara by Venom Prison. Every instrument can be brightly agaraxy while keeping that old school feeling, and the cymbals alone make me foam from the mouth.
